About
Coming from a background in photography and model-making, my artistic journey has been shaped by an unconventional, hands-on approach. Photography taught me the importance of composition and contrast, while model-making instilled patience and an appreciation for materials. These experiences influence my painting, where I use layering, color relationships, and gestural marks to create depth and movement.
Color is a central element in my work. I use bold palettes and unexpected contrasts to generate energy and tension within each piece. Acrylics, collage, and mixed media allow me to build textured surfaces, where previous marks remain visible beneath new layers, creating a sense of history within the painting.
My process is intuitive. I begin with a minimal plan, responding to the materials and allowing the work to develop organically. Accidents and chance discoveries play a role, keeping each piece fresh and evolving. Texture is key—I incorporate scratches, drips, and layered materials to add depth and tactile interest, making the surface as engaging as the composition itself.
Ultimately, my goal is to create paintings that invite exploration and emotional connection. I see abstraction as a language beyond words, offering viewers an open space to interpret and experience the work in their own way. My art is an invitation to pause, engage, and discover something new within each piece.
